Job Summary:

POOLCORP is seeking an experienced HR Manager to join our HR team at the Corporate Support Office in Covington, LA. The HR Manager will drive positive change throughout the business. This highly autonomous role is responsible for critical work including championing our culture, coaching and developing our managers and employees, resolving employment issues, reviewing compensation, and ensuring compliance with local and federal legislation. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Human Resources, the HR Manager serves as a key business partner for multiple divisions across North America and is a strategic member of the HR Leadership Team. You will be responsible for delivering world class service to our more than 4,000 employees from coast to coast!

 


Responsibilities:
  • Promotes our safety-first culture and helps manage business risk.

  • Champions our culture by ensuring our policies, processes, and procedures focus on providing and exceptional employment experience.

  • Assists supervisors and managers in Human Resource related questions and issues.

  • Helps to shape our future by aligning people and capabilities with our business strategy.

  • Participates in development of programs and systems that improve efficiency and support organizational goals.

  • Supports performance management and succession planning activities to build our next generation of leaders.

  • Enables a supportive, cross-functional working environment where sharing knowledge and expertise is encouraged.

  • Monitors and provides excellent HR service delivery (accurate, efficient and responsive).

  • Serves as general advisor on employment law and government regulations.

  • Reports on key HR metrics for senior leadership and Sr. Director of HR using various HR software.

  • Partners with in-house counsel and external legal counsel when required.

  • Participates in regular staff meetings as required.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field; additional HR certifications preferred.

  • Firm grasp of the fundamentals of HR Management; minimum of 5 years relevant experience.

  • Experience with Canadian laws and regulations helpful.

  • Demonstrated employee relations capability, including experience in a highly distributed environment.

  • Demonstrated problem solving and change management experience.

  • Demonstrated experience leading positive associate relations and communication programs.

  • Demonstrated organizational development skills – developing and aligning structure, people, processes and reward systems with business objectives.

  • Highly organized with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse personalities.

  • Solid project management experience - ability to create a plan, establish priorities to achieve results,  manage multi-tasks simultaneously, set and meet project deadlines, and leverage resources all while staying focused.

  • HR software experience helpful – such as Workday, ADP, Netchex, Oracle Taleo.

  • Proficient use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to travel as needed, less than 25% of the time.
